๐ Hi! I am Bibek Poudel.
Final year Computer Science Ph.D. student from the Fluidic City Lab at UTK, advised by Dr. Weizi Li with support from Center for Transportation Research.
My research is in Reinforcement Learning (RL) where I build intelligent systems that learn from experience to solve real-world problems, primarily in the domains of transportation and robotics. In transportation, I have developed agents that operate in multi-agent simulations and improve traffic flow for safer and more efficient mobility. In robotics, I have implemented real-time control and human-in-the-loop learning on physical hardware.
Currently, I am working on two projects: First, I am developing agents that can simultaneously make design and control decisions in urban environments to optimize outcomes for involved stakeholders i.e., pedestrians, vehicles, and urban planners. Second, I am developing agents that design transit routes in real-world urban networks to improve passenger mobility.
For details on my background and experiences, please check out my resume. Besides research, I am developing cowrite, a tool that helps researchers publish faster and I sometimes write on my blog.
